School has been closed all week here because of ice and snow and unusually low temperatures. I was stuck at home without a project on the needles, so I dug into my stash and came up with enough leftovers to make a couple of quick projects:
The first pic is a hat for my soon-to-be 1 year old granddaughter. Pattern is Poppy and the yarn is Baruffa Merinos Otto in Dusky Rose. A quick, easy knit. I finished it in an afternoon and used the flower pattern from here to finish it: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/flower-scarf-english
Second is Cozy cabled toque. I saw a North Face cabled hat on a woman at the coffee shop and looked for a pattern that resembled it. I didn’t have any bulky yarn, so I used two slightly different shades of white Cascade 220 Superwash, held doubled. Also a very quick, easy knit.
Good use of Snow-Time-Down. What may have inspired you for hats?
I love the kiddo hat. That pattern instantly went on my list. I am knitting for my friend’s baby born this weekend and for a charity-preemie-thing right now so I have lots of use for creative baby-hats!
Slim–
Is the cabled toque pattern on your Ravelry page. No longer snowed in, but, amazingly, I’m still knitting. And I’ve joined a local group. :woohoo: As for stash, I just learned to knit 2 months ago, am doing hats, so all my stash is left over from hats. Meaning, I can make multicolor hats indefinitely. Like Stone Soup.
