Snakey Scarf

I kind of made up this pattern… I found it on Ravelry, it used to be a free pattern, but the designer was changing it over to a pay pattern. I was impatient and didn’t want to wait for the pattern to be available, so I just winged it based on some of the project photos from the designer and other people who’d made it before. Then today when I went to add it to my Ravelry projects, it was available to buy. Go figure. So, I won’t share my interpretation of the pattern and I’ll share the link to the Ravelry download: Toddler Snake Scarf.

That said, I’m pretty proud of myself for just jumping in there and essentially figuring it out on my own, even if it wasn’t that complicated.

The yarn I used was Bernat Super Value Ombres in the Sage Butter colourway.

And so you can see how he curls in on himself underneath

My son would love that! Great job :happydance:

How cute!!

Very snaky yarn choice. So all that gives him his 3rd dimension is the curl of the stockinette? I knew that would be good for something someday. LOL You did a fine job. Nice menacing snake pose he has taken as well.

Oh that is really really cute!

How cute and what an ingeniuous way to use the curling habits of stockinette!! Yours looks fantastic and the colorway is perfect!

ITs lovely coloured n hope u wont scared when wearing it …lollll

Too too cute! How innovative, to let it roll into itself to form the snake’s body! Great work!

Thanks, all  Yes, it’s just the stockinette curling under on itself. I agree that it’s wonderfully clever, but can’t take credit for the idea.

The garter ridges give it a fun texture, and I find they help to keep it from curling up too too much.

That is really cool! What little boy would have fun wearing it? Great job!

Just adorable Angie! Kudos for winging it, and doing such a great job at that

LOVE IT! That really is adorable!
