I just viewed the “sloped bind-off” that is an alternative to the stair-stepping bind off that I don’t care for at all. My pattern reads; “bind off 10 sts at beginning of next 6 rows…” I guess I’m having difficulty understanding the sloped bind-off method. Do I just do as the video says one time and bind off all the remaining sts after that? Thanking you in advance for our help.
Are you talking about doing short rows with out binding off the steps? You would stop 10 sts before the end of the row before you would BO 10, then turn and work across, stopping 10 sts before the end of that row. Turn and work across, stopping 10 before you turned and turn, and so on. Then you can BO all the sts at one go.
Hi-I think it must be a short-row bind off. The video says to slip the last stitch onto the left hand needle, turn the work, then slip the next stitch and then pass the first slipped stitch over the last slipped stitch and then continue the bind off. Your method makes more sense to me. Thank you!
Oh, that’s another way to do it. Yeah, do a dec on the row before, then dec the first st, and continue with the regular BO. That does make a smoother line.
