I’m trying to make a scarf with a slit in it . It has 16 stitches. IN seed stitch. After four inches you only knit on 8 stitches for the next 3.5 inches. Then you put these stitches on a holder and knit the remaining 8 stitches. Do I need to break my yarn and start over on the 2nd group. Just using the same yarn seemed to be messy. Thanks, Susan
Slit in scarf
Yes, you’ve got it correctly. By knitting the two sides separately, you will end up with the “hole” you need. After you’ve done that, you will begin knitting all the stitches again.
