Slipping Stitches

Hi there ~ I think I have a pretty simple question… When a pattern calls for a slip, do you slip knitwise or purlwise? The pattern I have seems a little confusing to me. It says:Row 1: p1. Sl1P to last stitch; then P1. Row 2: K2. Sl1. K1 to last stitch and K1.Can someone help me please?

Thank you.

Generally you always slip purlwise if you’re not going to do anything further with it on the same row. They spelled it out on row 1 (sl1 p) and assumed that it was understood to do it the same way on the next row too.

Thank you Ravelry. Sometimes I think I read and can’t even see, you know?!

Well, assuming that people will understand what they mean isn’t always a good way to write a pattern…
