Slipping stitches when turning the heel... forgot again

I just can’t get it engraved on my brain, this slipping stitches.

So when it’s SSK you slip the stitches as if to knit. that’s pretty much certain. (turning the heel)

but what about when you’re turning the heel and you slip the first stitch on each row? Do you also slip it knit wise or purl wise?
(and since you’re turning the work around, right side is knit, wrong side is purled)

This isn’t easy to find, I looked around… I try it both ways and don’t see a lot of difference but I imagine if it’s slipped knitwise it’s tighter?

In general, unless stated otherwise, slip as if to purl.

On the knit side I slip purlwise with yarn in back. On the purl side I slip purlwise with yarn in front.

By purlwise I mean tip to tip.
