Slip stitches onto spare needle then...?

Hi everyone. I’m a returner to knitting and am making a really simple cell phone cover with a pocket.
The instructions say to slip the pocket stitches onto a spare needle. I then have to cast on some more for the main part.
Is it that simple? Do I break the yarn and just leave the stitches to one side until needed?
All help is appreciated.

It sounds like it. If you could include a link it would help.

You might need to leave the yarn attached and work the rest of it with a new end. A little more information as to how it’s worded there would be helpful.

Thanks for the swift reply.
I’ve cut and pasted the pattern link. Hope this helps.

Okay it looks like the sts are just left on a holder, then knit on to the rest of them. So cut the yarn and cast on for the other sts.

Hi again everyone,
I’m not sure if this is how I say it but thankyou for the replies. I’ll get on now and hopefully have learned yet another technique.
