I am making a purse and it says to K3, then sl st purlwise then K3 and repeat from the sl st pw. My question is this: When you slip stich purlwise, you go in from the front but are you also bring your work to the front as if you are going to purl stitch? I am most likely doing this wrong but I have been bringing the work to the front, slipping the stitch onto the needle from the front (purl wise) then bringing the work to the back again to knit the next three stitches. Is this right or should I just keep my work in the back and be slipping the stitch just in the front with no regards as to the placement of the string???
By work, do you mean the yarn? If the pattern doesn’t specifically say to slip the stitch w/ the yarn in front, leave it in the back. The linen stitch pattern has you bring it to the front, but you may be doing a double knitted pattern to form a tube with the bottom closed and you definitely want to leave it in the back. Do you have a picture or link to the pattern?

I just wanted to let you all know that when I went to do the slip stitch purlwise with the yarn in the back (it didn’t specifically say bring the yarn to the front), the pattern is now looking like it is supposed to.
