Slip st band into place?

I am knitting this pattern from knitty. I have my pieces done and for some reason it has you knit the front border band separately from the other front pieces and then SLIP ST BAND INTO PLACE. I don’t know what that means? Any help out there?

Just sew it. I’d probably kind of whip stitch it. I don’t know what slip stitch is.

Thanks Ingy! I knew that when I came home tonight I’d be able to finish up having received a response from you. You’re the best!

Theres a picture there of a slipstitch although its on fabric

I’ve used it before.

The only slip stitch I know of is a crochet stitch and is done by pulling a loop up through a stitch and drawing that loop through the loop already on your hook. Unless you’ve crocheted, that probably makes little to no sense as I am EXHAUSTED as I type. G’night.

The slip stitch in finishing a peice is referring to a sewing/finishing technique used for fabrics though. Although this term is definitely used during the making of knitted and crocheted fabrics, at the end it has a different meaning.
