Slip, Knit, Pass Over on Double Pointed Needles

I’m using 4 double pointed needles for a hat project.

I just learned how to SKPO.

Had 24 stitches on each needle (3 X 24) and a total of 72 stitches.

On one row, I would knit 7 stitches and then do SKPO. So basically, I SKPO 8 times in the row.

I was then left with 21 stitches on one needle, 22 stitches on the second needle, and 21 stitches on the third.

It seems to add up but is it a bit strange that I only have 21 stitches on one need and 22 on the others?

This is completely normal when decreasing on DPNs. At some point you might even have to move some stitches from one needle to another if the two stitches you try to work the decrease on happen to be on separate needles. As long as you keep track of where the round begins, feel free to move the stitches around the needles as you find it best.
