Can anybody out there in knitting land offer a how to for this pattern direction: “Slip 1 st purlwise wyib”? this is the direction for the first st in the row and I am flummoxed how this works. If anybody knows of a video that shows how to do this would be appreciated too. Thank you.
Keep your yarn to the back as if to knit, but insert the needle into the first stitch as if you were going to purl, only just slide it over to the right needle without working it.
The next st is probably a knit and your yarn is in the right place to knit it.
