Slip 1 knit to last 2 stitches

Hoping to get some help with this pattern

Pattern Repeat
Row 1: (WS,) Slip 1 knit to last 2 stitches, KFB, Knit 1
Row 2: (RS) KFB, Knit to last 2 stitches, Knit 2 tog

What does Slip 1 knit to last 2 stitches mean? Is it slip 1 stitch, then knit to the last 2 stitches?

Yes, that’s what it means. By writing it this way it applies no matter how many stitches are on the needle. I don’t see why the s1 on one row and not on following rows. I’d love it that were explained.
