Sleeve (Slope)

Hi there,

I am working on sleeve, but I am not sure how to work on the following instructions “Slope”.

Slope
When work meas 46 cm from beg, on each edge, cast off: 3 sts once, 2 sts once and 1 st once, on foll 4th rows, cast off 1 st 3 times, on foll 6th rows, cast off 1 st 3 times, on foll 4th rows, cast off 1 st 4 times, then cast off 2 sts once and 3 sts once.

My question is how to work on each edge cast off (referring to Tutorial )? On the same rows or on beginning of each row?

Thanks

I’d bind off the beginning of the current row and work to the end then bind off at the beginning of the next row. It does make things slightly uneven but nobody would ever know. Is that what you’re wanting to know?

ok. That mean it need to work extra row to get the bind off done. Will that be a problem (like length) for the sleeve?

THanks

When patterns are written, if they involve binding off at the end of a row you need to work the full row, turn and bind off those stitches (just as has been said). It IS in effect the next row but I always still try to think of it as the end of the previous row because “next row” on the pattern might require you to work something specific so after binding off i stop and check the next instruction. Does that make sense?

There is always a row difference in these sleeve slopes. Honestly you won’t notice at all.
Someone here posted a tutorial link to how to get the bind offs on the same row and I planned to try it, but never got around to it.

Good luck with your slope. Hope we see your finished project.
