Sleeve instruction help needed

I finished knitting all pieces of a sweater: 2 fronts, back, and sleeves. For finishing, the instructions say to first, sew fronts to back at shoulders; second, sew side seams; third, sew sleeve caps into armholes. Lastly, finish the fronts, neck, etc. The only part I don’t understand is the third re: sleeve caps–don’t I seam the whole sleeve in the armhole at this point? And when do I seam the sleeve? I’m still pretty much a beginner, so I could use some help on this.

I’d love to help you Can you possibly take a picture of your sweater? Usually, you wouldn’t see the side seams of the sweater until you set the sleeves in You can look on YouTube and get great instructions for placing the sleeves

I got this photo from google; but it’s the same one I’m knitting.

The easiest way to put the cardigan together is to seam the fronts to the back at the shoulders then seam the sleeve cap into the space for them in the body of the sweater. Finally, seam the sleeves and the side seams in one continuous seam.

Great instructions I love that sweater ! What kind of yarn did you use?

Thanks so much for the instruction. I’ll try that.

Since I’m just a little more advanced than a beginner, I used Red Heart Super Saver yarn to see if I could get through the instructions. So far it looks good. And if I can put it together, I’ll make another one with higher quality yarn. Thanks for your reply! (I deleted the photo, because I’m not sure about copyright rules.)

Photos and links to Ravelry or to pattern sites are fine. We just can’t post large portions of pattern instructions (bought or free) on the site.
Good planning on your sweater. I’m sure it’ll be a success.
