Sleeve going from cuff to sleeve

Hello all
I’m knitting a jumper Mellow Yellow from Rico Designs in The Burda Knitting magazine.
Here’s a screenshot

I don’t understand how to increase from 43 stitches to 82 stitches. Thanks in anticipation

Hi,

So your row is made up of the 43 stitches so P2 then increase 1 in each of the next 39 stitches then P2. Overall you are adding 39 stitches then. 39 + the 43 original stitches = 82.

Hope this helps!

Thanks so much, that does help. Can you recommend the best increase stitch type?

I would say the purl front and back (PFB) unless the pattern suggests a different increase is used.

This video is a slow motion of pfb and also an alternative way of making it, a pbf, which you might find easier.

Let us know how you get on or if you need more help.
