"sl 1 with yarn held to front of work on WS"

I’m knitting a Que Sera cardigan (http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEss10/PATTquesera.php). One of the sts in the lace pattern calls for me to “sl 1 with yarn held to front of work on WS”.

Now my question is: is the “front” of the work the side that is facing me as I knit (the WS), or is it the front of the cardigan (the RS)?

Thanks for your help–I’ve been poring through project pages on Ravelry but can’t find an answer.

The ‘front’ of your work is the side that’s facing toward you at the time which could be either the RS or WS. Here, it would be the WS.
