I’m so excited by this pattern. Illusion (or shadow) knitting might not be new to many of you, but I am so intrigued by it and pleased with how the scarf is coming along. I got the pattern from http://www.ysolda.me.uk/wordpress/index.php/patterns/skull-illusion-knit-scarf/ I am just halfway, now I have to reverse the pattern, which is proving to be more tricky than I expected (hence my writing here and updating my blog) next I will have to figure out how to block, something I have avoided thus far. Once done though, I know exactly who’s getting it for Christmas…
That is the coooooooolest!!! :cheering:
Oh, wow, that is so cool–I love it!!!
very cool! reminicent of the alien scarf in the first stitch and bitch
I’m glad to see that there are cooler illusion pattersn coming out now… when I first tried it, all i could find were dumb hearts or card suits and stuff blech
Hildegard, I saw your earlier posts trying to find good patterns, I have found a few since starting this. Finding this was a complete accident, I was actually looking for a skull pattern for an ipod cover (I’m in process of felting one, but having some issues) and found this by accident. There is a snowflake pattern and a really cool penguin one that I want to try too.
oh awesome! can you post the links?
Sure:

Ok, so i keep coming back to this post because it’s really inpspiring me. I think i’m going to have to make one of these and a Tychus for a FABULOUS friend of mine!
Thanks for posting this!

Hedgehog,
Firstly, thanks for the compliment, I’m glad that I did a post that has been inspiring for someone.
Secondly, I don’t remember the yarn’s full name offhand (you can check my blog link on the first post, I know I put it on there) but the color I remember was granite and it’s a baby alpaca (soooo soft) from knitty.com. It was originally a pair of gauntlets, but the color just didn’t work for them (I looked like I’d worn them for too many years, so I need something brighter). Anyway, after frogging, :crying: here is my new inspiration with a beautiful yarn. The black yarn is not so exciting…
Cathy
wooooooooooooooooooooow… COOL!
