On the inside right page, “LEFT FRONT, 1st Row. K1, yfwd, yrn, p2tog, * yrn, p2tog, rep from * to last st, k 1. 1st row forms patt. Keeping continuity of patt as set…” Does this mean all rows are knitted as stated? So far my test piece looks nothing like the photo. Please help.
Hello, and welcome the KnittingHelp.
I’ve pulled up a picture for this pattern number (a ladies jacket in Connemara Chunky?) and I can’t tell one way or the other if all rows are knitted as stated.
The only pointer I can give is that the pattern repeat is a Multiple of 2 + 4.
As well as asking if you are using this pattern repeat on the test piece, how are you working the yfwd and yrn, as these could throw the pattern if done wrong?
Sorry I can’t be more helpful at the moment.
Welcome to KH!
Check all of the instructions from the beginning and see if there is a note about purling the alternate or wrong side rows. Maybe that will help.

Thanks ladies!! I think I may have gotten it. Originally I was trying to work the pattern stitch from my stockinette stitch guage piece, an uneven number of stitches. Then I decided to go out on a limb and cast on the number of stitches required (an even number of stitches) for the Left Front and try exactly as stated in the pattern. It’s looking more like the photo, I think.
Thank you for your time and consideration and expertise! It’s nice to know this forum-thing really works.
Happy knitting!
