Single Cast-On
Also known as Backward-Loop Cast-On

Do you start with a slip knot? And if so how is it done? Is there a video? Please help me out :slight_smile: thanks a bunch!!!

And while I am at it I just want to know how to make rows.

How would I start making row 1?

Well I learned you use cast on I think it is to get the first row done

Not sure how to progress to the second row and keep going until I can make a full dish rag.

You don’t have to start with a knot, you can just loop it on the needle. To make the first row, (the cast on isn’t a row, it’s just the cast on) you put the needle with the sts on it into your left hand and make a knit stitch. There are video that show how to do the knit stitch, and on the Tips page there’s one Demo of a Small Project that shows casting on, then doing a few rows.
