I’m a newer knitter and was trying to use up some yarn on hand. In knitting 2 yarns together in a garter stitch scarf, I don’t have enough of one yarn. I’m using smaller needles for a little tighter knit and wonder if I switch to larger needles for a looser knit, will that use less yarn and allow for a scarf closer to the length I’m wanting? Thanks.
Yes, if you use larger needles and less sts across, that may give you the length you need. If you’re using 2 strands of worsted and size 10s, that would actually be sort of tight - go up to a size 13 and that should work out well.
Thank you Sue. I’ll give that a try. Barb
