Silly question... am i the only one who gets a knot in my

BACK… not just my yarn?

i’ve started a new project, my first baby blanket, using two strands of yarn… which is starting to twist on me already (which i think is twisting ME in turn) and now the KNOT in the back of my shoulder is pretty much takin over… i might name it… quasi-moto (cause that’s what i feel like i’m looking like). and i know it’s probably me just tightening up because its a new project… but didnt i work THROUGH all this knot in my back stuff… months ago (when i first started)…

am i the only one this happens to?
:??

Maybe it’s the weight of the project? Is it getting large now?

If I knit sitting on the floor or in bed, I get a knot in my shoulder because I tend to lean forward without realizing it for a long period of time. Same thing happens if I’m writing or drawing or anything, too.

large? yeah… not so… i’m on row 4… hehehe… i’ll be a twisted pretzel by the time i get halfway thru…

If I sit straight up and knit, I find I’ll get a knot under my shoulder blade. I tend to lean to one side–on the arm of the couch preferably, and I don’t have a problem. The couch supports my left arm and I do the work with my right (knitting English).

I tend to tense up and hold my shoulders kind of hunched around my ears (dont try to imagine it - its not pretty) if I am knitting with sock yarn. Its a death grip that means I am also knitting too tightly.

I get the knot in my back near my right shoulder blade as well. I have to get up and stretch out about every 15 minutes.

Funny you should post this…

I’ve recently taken to knitting on the floor and it’s killing my shoulders and back. Talk about knots!

I could go sit on the couch and knit, but then I’d be all alone since DH works in his office. I’m having some anxiety problems and find that I’m much more comfortable knitting in the same room with DH, even if it does mean I’m in pain. Crazy, huh?

I get knotted up in my back, especially if I am stressed or totally concentrating on not making any mistakes… such as what I am doing right now in my first sweater (baby) for friends of ours. Anyway, also, sitting on the bed does not help me. The couch usually is much better if I am sitting straight.
