I’m new to knitting and I know this is way above my pay grade but if I don’t ask while it is on my mind my cat will hide it.
I’m into wearing kilts and since I need kilt hose (knee high socks) with a larger calf size that commercially available I decided to start knitting my own. So far it is Knit 1 purl 2 drop 4 but I am getting better.
I saw and example of kilt hose where the knitter was knitting toe-up and when she came to the cuff at the top turned her needles 90 degrees and knit the cuff sideways to the rest of the hose. this seems to be an easier way, once you turn the needle, to knit the cables on the cuff. Does anyone know how this is done and it there is some guidance on the web?
