Should I put in a faux seam?

Needing some help please!
I’m doing a pattern for a top down cardigan and wondering should I put in a faux seam in the side.
This is the first garment I’ve ever made for myself and want it to sit right!
(Lol I even did a tension gauge)
I’ve never knitted with this wool before- its bamboo cotton mix by Cole. It in incredibly soft so I’m wondering even if I did a Seam if it would help give added structure to it.
I’m a little worried this cardigan is going to be too soft and floppy… Guess it ll be interesting to see. It does feel beautiful on my hands Bd seriously soft.

The pattern after I put sleeve stitches onto waste yarn had me
CO 5, PM (for side), CO5
…I’m currently working even until I’m 1 inch under the arm.
The pattern is going to have me shape the waist by
Decreasing 4 sts then every 8 rows 3 times as follows ( work to 3 sts before side marker, SSK,
K1, SM, K1, K2tog

Would it be wrong to add in 1 stitch in the centre and purl it?
Or would this affect the shaping?

Thanks in advance!

I guess what Im Trying to ask( badly) is …
Is that shaping that they will have me doing , going to give structure or would an extra stitch purled help?

if you like the look of a more defined seam at the sides, then go ahead and add in the extra purl. It’ll fall in the center of the shaping so it’ll look fine. I don’t expect it to stabilize the drape of the sweater so much as it will give a more structured appearance. The side shaping will help with structure. Is this decreased to the waist and then increased again?
The sweater so far looks fabulous. Beautiful work.

Thank you!
Am putting in the faux seam.
Feel I’m in the home stretch even though I’ve loads to do
