Hi,
I’m hoping someone can help me. I’m sorry it’s going be confusing because I don’t know how to explain it properly.
I’m knitting my DD longies on circular needles and I’m trying to add some short rows through the back to make room for her cloth nappy. I’m using the wrap technique and all is perfect on the knit row, I wrap and turn, purl back, on the purl row I wrap and turn, knit across, knit the wrap and stitch together on the knit side keep knitting all the way around to the wrap and stitch that I did on the purl side and this is where I run into problems.
On straight needles when I come to the wrap and stitch that I did on the purl side I would be purling so I’d be able to pick up the wrap and stitch and keep going. On circulars I encounter the wrap and stitch that I did on the purl side on a knit row because that’s all you do on circulars and I try to knit the wrap and stitch together but it’s awkward and it leaves a bar across the right side of my work as well a a hole. I’ve also tried the yarn over method but that left a knot as well as a hole.
Is there a trick to this? It’s driving me crazy. I have all of these perfect little invisible turns on the left and side of my work (knit row turn) and holes all down the right side of my work (purl row turn).
Please, please help.
Thanks
