I don’t really understand the concept of short row knitting but I’d really like to make a Calorimetry. Can someone link me to (or explain) short row?

This is a good explanation for short rows. She also has a podcast where she discusses short rows.
“Short Row with Wrap” is one of the video tutorials in Knitting Help’s “Advanced Techniques”, see tab above.
The Calorimetry pattern doesn’t incorporate wraps though, so you could just follow the pattern as written. The slip sts help, but the holes are left to be buttonholes. Some people did do wraps on theirs though.
