Hello everyone. I am looking for help with knitting on circular needles. I have taken up knitting again after a very long gap and have been making a hat on a circular needle. No problem with that but I get to the final 3 rows and the needle is too long. The pattern says to switch to 4 double ended needles but I have tried and tried but can’t do it.
My question is, is it possible to buy tiny circular needles instead? I’ve had a look online but can’t find anything.
Short circular needles
Welcome to KH!
You’ll need to work some technique for knitting a small circle: 2 circular needles, magic loop, dpns or flexi-flips.
Here are two of the possibilities:

This might work best, assuming you don’t have two circulars of the same size and your needle is too short for magic loop. I do hats from start to finish on one circular. My preference is magic loop but you should use what works best for you.
Traveling Loop // Technique Tuesday
There comes a point where the circulars can’t get any smaller, because you still need enough needle tip to hold on to.
Seems counter-intuitive, but the solution is a longer cable, not a shorter one! You’ve already had several suggestions about this. I’m a Magic Loop fan myself…I keep dropping DPNs.
And DPN can hide in the most difficult to find places. My chair loves to eat such things.
