Shopping Spree!

Okay, not really. I’m going under $30. LOL So I guess that doesn’t count as a shopping spree, huh?? :teehee:

I’m going to buy some yarn for me for my Christmas present to me.

My question is:
What is your favorite yarn? What, IYO, is a yarn I have to try? (Don’t go by my price posted above. Seriously. Any price. But Vicuna’s a little out of my reach. LOL

Gah! Vicuna is out of nearly everyones reach! :zombie:

I don’t know if I have a favorite…do you like wool? Malabrigo is really nice and probably not something you’d ordinarily get for yourself. I bought myself one hank, but haven’t tried it yet.

Eyah, LOL, I think so too.

I’ve been thinking about that. I like most fibers… (Acrylic being my least favorite, but I don’t stop using it. It’s good for gifts and stuffed animals - things that have to be washed regularly, and I’m not washing. LOL

So the list so far is:
Malabrigo

Right now, I’m loving Magic Ball yarn by Be Sweet! 1 Skein cost me about $30 and made a really cute halloween scarf!

Malabrigo if you like a “regular” (as opposed to novelty) yarn

For a novelty yarn, Geisha - http://www.yarndex.com/yarn.cfm?yarn_id=278 it is super soft and makes the best scarves. You can find it on Ebay for about $5/ball. Two balls make a scarf.

Do you knit socks?
For me, sock yarn is a big treat. One of my new favourites is Koigu. The colours are fabulous and the yarn knits up just gorgeously. I also just recently bought some MadelineTosh sock yarn and the colourways are fantastic- so unique and vibrant.

These yarns are beautiful. I have a skein at home but I haven’t used it yet. The colours are amazing and it is so soft. I originally saw them at a knitters fair and just loved the colours and feel of this yarn

I also liked using Malabrigo.

Thanks everyone for this forum. I found some new yarns that I like and also a couple of LYS I didn’y know about.:woot:
