Shell St Afghan Tip

Just finished the Lion Brand pattern for a crochet shell st baby afghan - it is listed under several names, and Lion Brand is not the only one that has this pattern… my tip is, save yourself time and grief by carrying the yarn over along the side when changing colors. Each row of shell sts is in a different color, and if you cut the yarn at the end of each row (like I was advised to do) it leaves masses of ends to weave in at the end. If your yarn is slippery (like mine was) it may be impossible to weave them in without them showing - each color is contrasting, making it worse. If you carry them over it is easy to cover them up with the shell st border that goes around the outside! :happydance:
