Shawl

I’m trying to figure out how to work the inc on a shawl I saw in a magazine. This is how the pattern goes

Pattern Stitch:
R1: k2tog, yo, repeat until end of row
R2: k

CO 16 sts, work pattern stitch, inc 1 st at each end every 2 rows.

How would you do it, i don’t understand if the inc are worked only in the even number rows, in the odd number rows, and how do I increase: a yo, m1?

Thank you!

If you work a yo for your end of the row increase, you might end up with two yos in a row, and that would be messy.

I think I’d increase with a kfb on every right side row (or every ws row) It doesn’t matter, as long as you’re consistent.

Keep edge sts at the beg and end of the row so you would work the edge st, RS row, edge st. Then do the incs on the WS row, one st in from the edge - edge, inc, knit to last st, inc, edge.

Thank you very much!!!:muah:
