I am hoping someone may have suggestions for me to remedy the finished edge of a shawl I have just completed. The edge has lace near the bind off, and the edges are rippling or wavy. Will simply blocking it well remedy this, or is there something else I can try? Thank you in advance.
Blocking lace is very good for straightening out waves and opening up the pattern. What pattern are you making? Can you give us a link or a photo, please?
Thank you salmonmac! Here’s a link to the pattern. It just has 3 rows of ‘yo’ but the final one is on the edge. I appreciate your telling me that a good blocking will help. It’s my first foray into lace.
Oh, pretty shawlette. Yes, blocking is great for lace and makes it even prettier.
Love to see a photo of yours if you’d like to post one.
Wow, lovely! Wonderful work and very nice yarn.
Thank you . It is Opal finger weight I got at Yarn Canada. Thanks for the warm welcome: I look forward to taking in the posts and participating in this online community.
