Shaping shoulders for sweater vest

Hello,

I’ve gotten to the portion of shaping the left shoulder of my sweater vest. I’m almost finished with this section but I’m a bit stumped by this last step:

“Cast off 7 sts at beg of next row. Purl 1 row. Cast off rem 7 sts.”

I understand the “next row” is a knitting row and I cast off 7 stitches. But should I be turning my work around to purl, or do I purl within that same knitting row? Apologies in advance if I made this sound more confusing. Let me know if I need to be clearer. Thanks!

Cast off 7sts then knit to the end of the row, turn and purl the next row. Cast off the remaining 7sts on the next row, a knit row.
