Shaping a neckline

I’m a bit confused how a set of directions translate. I have a row of 22 stitches.

The instructions say knit 2 stitches, then make a left leaning decrease, knit 5 stitches, cast off next 4 stitches (remember you start decreasing by knitting 2 stitches before lifting first stitch over second off needle.), knit 4 stitches, make a right leaning decrease, knit the last 2 stitches.

From my understanding, this doesn’t add up to the 22 stitches on my needle (2, 2 for left leaning, 5, cast off 4, 4, 2 for right leaning, 2). I get 21 and am missing 1.

Any help appreciated!

The extra stitch in in the bind off. It takes 5 sts to bind off 4sts. If you work across this row you’ll see that it uses 22sts. (See also the note in parentheses.)

Thank you! I figured it out eventually. Appreciate the extra confirmation, though.
