Man, am I slow or WHAT?!
I was looking at Ravelry the other day, and noticed a knitter named Lisa Shroyer. I said out loud, “Hey, I wonder if she’s related to Nancy Shroyer, the lady that taught me Fair Isle Knitting at SAFF?”
So, I read her Ravelry profile, and got to know Lisa Shroyer a little better. Turns out, she IS related to Nancy, and she also happens to be the editor of INTERWEAVE KNITS! OMG!
Am I the last person in the world to figure this out?
I’ve been teased many times in my life for being an airhead. Really…seriously. Most things just go right past me. :teehee:
Now, you all have proof of that fact.
Anyway, some of you may remember how I went on and on about Nancy Shroyer, and what an amazing teacher she was. I learned SO MUCH at that Fair Isle Knitting class, never realizing I was being taught by one of the greats.
I think it’s so COOL to have such a prolific knitter in my own state. I’m definitely signing up for Fair Isle Knitting at SAFF again next year, or maybe Fair Isle Knitting II!
During the class, Nancy mentioned that she has her own line of yarn to use for fair isle knitting, because she wasn’t satisfied with the limited color selection of most yarns. Plus, she wanted a thinner yarn for North Carolina weather. Also, she said that she has several knitting gadgets available under her company name “Nancy’s Knit Knacks”.
 ANOTHER “duh” moment. Those items are available from KnitPicks. :teehee:
I wish I could go back in time now, and bow at her feet. :notworthy:
