Sewing down placket in wonderful wallaby pattern

Hi, I am looking for some advise on sewing the placket and having it look good. Right now I have attached to two placket pieces in the back. I need to attach it now to the body. The only yarn left from the project is dark blue so I don’t want it to show. Also the center body stitches where I split work for the placket are loose. I’d like advise for tightening them up without calling attention to the fix.

Welcome to KH!
I find the easiest way to do this is to seam the front part of the placket first. You can seam from the wrong side with a sewing backstitch. That’ll probably help with the loose front sts. Once that’s seamed you can stitch down the back placket piece to the front seam with a couple of tacking stitches.
I’ve just done this to finish off a sweater.
