Sew stupid update

I know there have been two or three threads about this recently (the copyrighting of the term “stitch & bitch” by the Sew Fast/Sew Easy people) and that we are all pretty aggravated by what’s going on. Well the SFSE folks have just posted (as of today) a response to all those from the knitting (and other kinds of stitching) community who have been “attaching” them (yes, it is spelled that way in the document more than once!) for copyrighting the term and going after Debbie Stoller. It is an unbelievable piece of work, esp. in how low they stoop in calling Debbie Stoller “Ms. STOLE-IT”. You can read it yourself at http://www.sewfastseweasy.com/stitch_and_bitch/statement.html

Aren’t they opening themselves up to yet another lawsuit by publicly making fun of her name? Their behavior over this entire issue is abominable. They deserve a head-on collision with the Karma Train.

That is amazing. You know if they really wanted to change peoples minds ( :rollseyes: ) about their right to the term “stitch and b*tch” then they really should have put more effort into writing that statement. I mean even re-reading it once would have helped. not to mention the name calling that they did. That letter is going to do nothing for helping them. Not that anything would help them on this subject. :wink:

I also noticed that there are a few people over their pimping KH. :roflhard:

I got a 404 error on the page… maybe the webmaster got confused and removed one of their own links instead of links to everywhere else. After I first heard about these idiots {politest term possible for them}, I took a good look at their forum {if you can call it that}… basically if you try to say anything against them, or with a reference to any page that isn’t on their site… you can consider it gone within a day or so.

Hmmm. That’s strange. I just went directly to the cafe forum and found the statement link at the top. It has the same addy that I’ve linked in my previous post, but for some reason clicking on it in my post doesn’t seem to be working this morning. But if you go to their forum, you should be able to find it…

Your link has a period at the end of it. If you click on it, you have to delete the period and it’ll work.
And I agree about the karma train. :twisted:

I am a member of the yahoo group started by Debbie Stoller for snb leaders–one member posted that her sis found where the term SNB is used in an obituary from much much earlier than SFSE’s first “use” of the term. The girl’s sis is a librarian and helped her to find reference to the term. She is sendng it directly to Debbie.
