Selecting this type of yarn (photo)

Hi all, I want to make a fuzzy sweater, but not too fuzzy! I know I’ve seen similar yarn at the store, but I think they would overwhelm the look I’m going for. I want a fuzzy sweater…but not too fuzzy.
This image is EXACTLY what I’m going for, “fuuzzzz” wise!

Does anyone have suggestions on what to use, and what weight I should go after to achieve this look? I know angora yarns would do it, but I don’t want to spend too much on this project.

And to make sure, this to me looks like the reverse side of a k1p1 pattern, am I correct?

Welcome to KH!
I can’t get the URL to work but maybe you can try posting a link now.
What about a mohair yarn? There are some with a long fiber that might work

Anything that will look “fuzzy” like this likely has angora or mohair. And, if you want it to be angora or mohair that won’t felt, pill or shed terribly the first time you wear/wash it (i.e. good quality), it will cost some $.

Try searching stashes for sale on Ravelry.com, eBay and bargain/closeout bins at your LYS.

Yes, it does look like seed/moss stitch.

Thank you both, I figured it would have to be angora or similar.

Is mohair itchy?
I have 100% alpaca sweaters from my late grandmother that I really love, they FEEL soft, but they’re so itchy when worn that I get numb after a little bit of wearing them.

What is a good weight of yarn I want to get, if buying angora or mohair/blends? I don’t want it to be too fuzzy

Some people find mohair unbearably itchy and others don’t mind it. You might consider knitting a sweater that would go over a shirt of turtleneck so that the mohair isn’t next to your skin.
Best thing to do is find a pattern that you like and then look for the mohair or blend in the weight recommended. There can be quite a range.
