Hello! I’ve looked all over this site and much of the web, for a pattern for a large round container that would end up about the size of a 5 quart ice cream pail after felting. I’d like to make them up for Christmas gifts, and fill them with things like scented pine cones, cookies or popcorn balls, or whatever. Though I feel certin I’ve seen one online somewhere, I can’t find it now. New to knitting, new to posting, but have used this site almost entirely to teach myself to knit (though I’m still using that term loosely to describe what I’m doing!) over the last month or so. I just don’t know what is the best way for a beginner to make a round bottom (OK, I’ve actually got that mastered: Chocolate!).
Thanks, Ingrid (and so speedy, too)! It isn’t what I thought I had seen, but it certainly would do the trick, plus be doubly useful for my cat-loving friends and family! And, I can actually understand the pattern for making the, um , circular base!
Hurrah! I think you found it, Ingrid! I think the Zibibbo was the one I had seen and been searching for, though it was felted in my (poor) memory. Now that I have these great basket/bed patterns, I can try several versions rather than just mass-producing the same pattern. Plus, I’m sure I’ll learn more than a few things in the process! (I may be back once I try to figure out
Hurrah! I think you found it, Ingrid! I think the Zibibbo page was the one I had incidentally seen once and have been searching for since, though it was felted in my (poor & unreliable) memory. Now that I have these great basket/bed patterns, I can try several versions rather than just mass-producing the same pattern. Plus, I’m sure I’ll learn more than a few things in the process! (I may be back once I try to figure out that mosaic basket!)
