Seed rib chart: multiple of 4 sts + 1; 2-row rep. There are two heavy black lines that contain the rib chart and there are two rows outside the heavy black line of the 4-st rep on the left side that has the # 5 underneath both repeat rows are knit rows. Are these extra rows on the left side met for a larger size…I don’t understand what I am to do.
Thank you in advance for helping!!!![]()
Welcome to KH! I think this is your pattern. We always want to know.
Are the ‘extra rows’ outside the lines columns of stitches? My best guess without seeing it is that you start the row and work the stitches indicated until you get to the part inside the heavy black lines which is the repeat that you work again however many times needed. The stitches on the other side of the heavy line are for whatever is left after you finish the repeats. The pattern should tell you if they pertain to the size you’re making.
Hi GG,
Thank you so much for answering my question.
I don’t remember working a pattern repeat like this before. As you can see by the pattern on Ravelry it’s a very short repeat. It should be a very straight and easy knit. It wouldn’t be me if I couldn’t make something easy… difficult! ![]()
I was on KH a long time ago and am back but had to register as a new member. I see a lot has changed. Its such a wonderful, helpful place to get all kinds of information and meet new friends with common interests. ![]()
Did you get it figured out? What was your previous user name? I was already GrumpyGramma and when I came back I just had to log in with the same name.
I tried to send you a reply but don’t know if you received it. Thank you so much for your help. What you said made sense and I was able to look at it in a different way. I have tunnel vision sometime!![]()
I had to log in with a whole new account as I couldn’t remember log in info. Oh well…at least they let me in finally. ![]()
When I decided to learn to use charts I started with something very simple, I believe it was a rib chart on a Drops pattern. I knew how to do the rib without the chart but just couldn’t get it to work so I asked here. I think it was salmonmac who pointed out I doing what I knew I shouldn’t and was reading the WS right to left. So…if you want to compete for the title in making something easy difficult, you’ll have to work for it!!! ![]()
