Seaming help

Hello,

So I have been working on knitting a bunch of blankets. They are in what I think is called double moss stitch (k2, p2 repeat for 2 rows, and then switch p2, k2 repeat for 2 rows.) This causes some issues with seaming.

I tried a mattress stitch and it was just too bulky on the back. I also tried the mattress type stitch suggested here in another post that was used on seed stitch, but it left holes because the purl stitch are 2 rows in a row followed by two knit stitches, so it didn’t work right.

Has anyone had any luck, or know of any seam that will maintain the elasticity of the seam, but also keep it from being super bulky? I’m making these blankets as gifts and really want it to look nice.

I appreciate any feedback!

You could consider crocheting pieces together. Even if you don’t do much crochet, that can be done very simply.
Another possibility is a baseball seam. It’s shown in this video at about the 5 minute mark. (Eunny shows the mattress stitch at about 4 minutes.) The baseball seam is useful in that it doesn’t leave any extra fabric on the reverse side.

Hi, thanks for the video. I will have try out the baseball seam and see how it looks. It’s alternating blocks of color so it might work. I appreciate the response.
