Seaming edges

Hi,

I have a set of squares that I need to seam together to form a blanket.

The sides of the square use a drop stitch selvage edge which looks like a chain.

Does anyone have a recommendation on how to seam the squares together?

You could use a mattress st to seam the edges but it will give you a ridge along the wrong side of the blanket (although it will be a very neat looking ridge).
I think that since you have such nice edges, the best way to join them is with crochet. Even if you don’t crochet, this would be a perfect time to find a video or pick up a book about crocheted seams.
