Seaming a bootie - reversing seam

Hi,
my name is lindee. I am a ‘self taught’ knitter since 2003. This website has been a life saver. I have a question and I can’t find the answer. Should be fairly basic…

I’m seaming up a bootee and the instux say 'sew seam, reversing seam 1 1/4 in from the top.'
What does ‘reversing the seam mean?’

Thanks for any and all help!

It means that you are going to want the seam side on one side for a ways and then on the other side for the rest of the way. What I usually do to help myself figure out how I need the seam to go is to fold the top down like it will be when worn. Then you can see that you are going to want the “good” side of the seam on the part that will be on the outside when folded, and then on the other side further down. Does that make sense?

OK, yes! I understand. Thank you so much!
