Look what you guys have done to me! All this talk of Malabrigo, Malabrigo, Mmmmmmalabrigo – I could no longer resist! I bought one hank and made a Scrunchable Scarf. I cast-on 20 sts. and knitted until I ran out of yarn. The scarf ended up being about 3.25 inches wide and 6 feet long!! It’s just yummy!
Now, I’m hopelessly hooked on Mmmmmalabrigo! There will be more of this yarn in my future – the very near future.
It’s too bad I’m such a sloooooooooooooow knitter and have to finish what I’m working on…I am dying to buy my first hank of malabrigo!!
I do have a question, though. I “googled” the pattern for the scrunchable scarf, and it seems really straightforward, but I was confused on one thing. What does the last part of this mean:
Cast on a multiple of 3 sts (plus one on each edge for a selvage).
I’ve seen that in other patterns; I was just never sure what it meant!
I love it!!!I just ordered some Malabrigo I had to put it on my credit card and now I have to wait for it does anyone know how long webs takes to ship??
beloved – I can’t wait to see yours – that lime and blue colorway sounds so pretty!
IrishKnitter – Yep, just as frisky said, you cast-on two “extra” stitches, then slip the first stitch purl-wise and knit the last on every row. It makes a nice, neat, smooth edge on the scarf.
blueeyes – I’ve never ordered from Webs, so I don’t know how long they take. I hope you get your yarn soon though! What color did you get?
oh no… I just realized I’ve been slipping my stitches knit-wise and not purl-wise! :doh I’m about 8 inches into it… is it worth it to rip it out and start over? or should I just leave it? It’s doesn’t look that bad…
