Scrap Yarn Ideas

I have a TON of scrap yarn lying around & I would LOVE to use it. I hate seeing good yarn go to waste, but most of what I have isn’t enough for a complete project.

Any suggestions?

Any links to patterns, preferably on Ravelry?

If you have acrylic yarn leftover, hospitals are almost always looking for newborn or preemie hats or booties.

These are free soft amigurumi type toys on Ravelry- 150 yds or less.

Sweet!! Thanks, guys.

One lady once suggested making squares out of the leftover yarn and then piece them together to make a blanket.

That’s actually what I decided to do! I found a pattern for Tulip Dish Cloths. I’m just going to make a bunch of different colored ones & put them together! I’m excited.

You can do cat toys for animal shelters. I’ve also seen children’s mittens done in different crayon type colors. One color for the cuff, one for the body of the mitten (or done in stripes) and another color for the thumb. Toddler mittens are adorable done this way. Love your selfie. You look like you’re an artistic type who could come up with some great color combinations for a pair of fingerless gloves.

I make hats for charity with stash yarn. If I only have small amounts I just throw in stripes. It’s pretty fun and they are often all different.

making a striped cowl to use mine up with size 10 needles…:knitting:

You never realize how much yarn you have until you go through all of it. Lol. I had no idea that I had this much!! Yet… I feel like I need to get more.

Yarn addict. :knitting:

if you have similar colors…textures don’t matter…do sections of different yarns and make a colorful scarf…I went to a knitting night at the ballpark and several yarn stores donated bits of yarn…I knitted into a scarf and it was one of my favorites…well IT WAS STOLEN right off of my desk at work…I think one of the students took it…I was just heartbroken!!!

That’s messed up!! I would be so sad!!!
