I’ve been knitting for 6 years and I still like garter stitch. Nothing wrong with it at all. Looking forward to seeing pix of your scarf!
Sounds like you are really having fun knitting this scarf. It is amazing when you see that you are turning a ball of yarn into something pleasing and even useful. It would be great to see a picture when you finish. Good luck with it and continue to enjoy knitting!
Garter stitch makes excellent scarves! With your interesting yarn (for color), should turn out great.
