I’m a novice knitter but have done a few scarves. This is my latest scarf & my first hat attempt to go with it. It’s a slouch hat as they suit my head shape the best.
I’m now doing my 1st cardigan so hope it fits me when it’s done!
Sorry pic not showing. Opened a Flickr account using Firefox but for some reason not uploading. Will have to try again later.
You can upload straight from here. If you click on the little paper click, it allows you to go into your picture file on your computer, upload and post. Looking forward to seeing them!!
I’ve done a few scarves over the last 12 months as they don’t need sewing together but this is the latest one. I’m pretty clueless with regards to sewing but I had a go at doing a hat & then joined a knitting group & a lady there showed me mattress stitch which I’d seen in a book. Since I’ve got some support from the group I decided to have a go at a cardigan so I’ve got a bit of help if I get stuck! I just hope if fits when I’ve done it. I’m currently wondering how generous to be with the sleeves as the ones in the pattern might be a little short on me. I’d rather be a bit generous than too short though.
Those are really nice and don’t look like novice work at all! I love the color. I really like slouchy hats, but I’m closer to 60 than 50, and my teenagers and DH tease me if I wear them, “What are you, some aging hippie?” Doesn’t stop me, though, because I look even dumber in beanies
I’m 49 (but a young 49) so not quite got to the hippie stage yet (hopefully) :teehee: If I wear an ordinary woolly hat they tend to look like a tea cosy on my head :roflhard:
I believe you are one week older than I; I love my slouchy hat. When it is unearthed, I will have DH take a photo and I’ll post it here. Here is the link for the pattern:
