I have a pattern that I found on the internet. Here is the pattern
CO odd numbers (33)
rows 1 - 4 K1, P1
rows 5 - 8 KNIT ALL
if you look at the photo that is not what it looks like.
I looks like ribbing and one or two rows of seed stitch (k1,p1)
Has anyone seen this pattern or knitted it.
that sounds easy and looks good. I found a bunch of projects on ravelry. If you are not a member yet: sign up to check them out. Ravelry is a free community.
You’ll get kind of a seed st on the k p rows, and on the rows when you knit all sts it will make the k p rows before and after them look more like ribbing. It depends on you needle size and what your yarn looks like. Just try it out, knit about 20 rows and see how you like it.
I just looked at the pattern closely. You did not copy it quite all the way which explains your frustration:
It does not say rows 1-4 k1 p1, but what it does say is:
Rows 1-4: K1P1 ribbing
the key part is the “ribbing”
She does want you to create ribbing and therefore for this section the knits get knit and the purls get purled. No seed stitch or anything fancy. Start with a row of k1 p1 - ending on the k1 since you have an odd number of stitches.
Then turn your work and do p1 k1 all the way back. Therefore you create the ribbing.
No moss stitch / seed stitch involved.
