Scalloped edge for baby blanket

I’d like to knit a baby blanket with a curvy border .

Do you have a pattern for the main blanket in mind? You might choose an applied border that you add after knitting the rest of the blanket. I didn’t look this over carefully but it should give you an idea of what I mean.

This looks good Yes, I’m making a blanket with Premiere chunky Bloom yarn

Do you want the border on the ends only or on all sides? I you wish to have it all around there are ways to deal with the corners and you can join as you go along row ends. Let us know what you want to explore and someone will have some help to offer.

To create a scalloped or “curvy” border for a baby blanket, the most popular and beginner-friendly method is the Old Shale or Feather and Fan stitch pattern. This technique uses a combination of increases (yarn overs) and decreases (knit two together) to naturally force the fabric into a waving, scalloped shape.
