Saving patterns on a CD

This may be sorta OT, but, I have lots of patterns saved in a file in my outlook express/hotmail. I want to burn them onto a CD so that I can access them when I want but also free up some space on the computer. I´ve saved most of them as links, and if I burn it that way, I have to be connected to see the pattern. I also tried saving it with the link opened, and then I get the writing but not the pix.

Can someone steer me in the right direction?

The worst part is, I¨ve done this before and it´s worked, but it was over a year ago and I forgot how to do it…

The easiest and cleanest way to save a webpage is to create a PDF file of it. Then it can be read and printed with Adobe Reader.

PrimoPDF is a free program that creates PDF files.

So then I´d save the opened link, right? ( I´m not exactly computer literate… ) And that will work with the Nero program to burn it?

You use the PrimoPDF to “print” the web page to a PDF file. The PDF file can then be burned to a CD as a data file.

Another easy solution:
Open the link in your browser.
That should take you to the website that has the pattern you wish to keep.
If you’re using IE (Internet Explorer) go to:

File > Save As
In the resulting Save Webpage dialog, navigate to a folder on your computer that the webpage will be saved to.
Keyin a file name along the bottom.
Set the Save as Type to Web Archive, Single File (*.mht)
Click Save

Go to the next saved link and repeat.
When done burn all of the MHT files to a CD or DVD.
You’ll be able to open the MHT files with IE to view them and they will appear exactly the same as the page exists on the original web site.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Lisa and Echo! I appreciate the advice!

What I ended up doing was re-sending it to myself with the link opened ( the actual webpage ), then went into File and saved it into my documents. From there it was easy to pick it up with the Nero program. I even found that if I opened the schematic page before saving it, it seems to work as well without being connected. A bit complicated or time consuming maybe, but it worked, and in the end, that´s all that counts. I´ve burned over 50 patterns - when am I really going to get all them done??? And I have sworn off knitting websites - at least for a while. Have cleaned out tons and the computer seems happier ( and quicker! )

We´re having lousy weather - good excuse to knit, don`t ya think? i¨m off…
