Santa Sweater

I finally finished this sweater for my DD’s birthday, which was in September. Even more miraculously for me, is that it fits perfectly. The face is done in duplicate stitch. I had read that you cannot do intarsia in the round, but was determined to avoid seaming. I had also read that large blocks of duplicate stitch make for very heavy, stiff fabric, which I found to be true. I don’t think I would do it this way again, because it is somewhat heavy. The stiffness is not too bad-no stiffer than many store-bought sweaters I’ve seen, in any event.

The picture was obviously taken pre-blocking and finishing.
