Bind off has begun :cheering:
Thank you salmon for providing this link:
What a great bind off this is! I had been eagerly anticipating this, with over 1400 stitches on the circulars, it was virtually impossible to see how this was going to turn out

Oh mm gee. Claire, that’s amazing. Looking forward (very much) to seeing your FO!!
:yay:
Wow. :notworthy:
I love lace, that’s so great.
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
This shawl is coming along so beautifully! You’ve really worked your way through all aspects of it. Glad the bind off was helpful.
Yes, I’m looking forward to seing the finished piece as well.
Beautiful!!
1400 stitches!! :passedout: Are you keeping track of how long the bind off takes? I’d be curious to know! Anyway, it looks like the FO will be beautiful. I can’t wait to see it!
I keep coming back to admire your work. So often multiple colors and patterns seem to collide and fight but you have the perfect combination here. It is so lovely!
Pretty colors! You have a lot of faith; 1400 stitches! Wow!
Are you still binding off? If you’re doing the BO I think you are, she said in the video it takes about 3x the yarn of a regular BO. I hope you have enough. :teehee: I’m sure you do.
@GG - No worries, I bought a LOT of this yarn . Fell in love with the color and, not realizing it was fingering weight, purchased a whole bag of it :noway: @DTurner, I did not keep track of the hours, but I would guess the time for bind-off was in the six to eight hour range :passedout:
After I began the bind-off, I realized that my needles were not pointed enough, so I found, thankfully, some circulars for lace knitting (the LYS here is more geared towards quilting). This yarn is pretty sticky, and while binding off I discovered :figureditout: that tugging on the two stitches before inserting the left needle to knit them together was really helpful.
I used a crocheted picot edging for the neckline, size E hook. It did not draw the stitches in enough to my liking, so I am now in the process of redoing that using a size C hook.
When I tried on the shawl, I found out that ruffles can be quite heavy; drawing up the neckline will be important to help keep it on the shoulders, and I think  a shawl pin might be very useful.
1400 stitches?! I didn’t even know that was possible… Wow… Quite a job!
Pretty colours - is there some red in there or is that because of the flowers in the background?
There is no red, but there is a purple color. Although Araucania Lontue has colorways, there are no dye lots; the skeins can differ quite a bit within the same colorway. Here is a link of the yarn that is closest to the skeins that I used.
Oh my oh my! Another inspiring work of art here at KH! This is spectacular!
I love the pattern and the yarn and the colorway!
